Governor Brown Takes Action to Improve Public Safety and Help Law Enforcement

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. announced today that he has taken action on legislation to improve public safety and help law enforcement in California.

The following bills have been signed by Governor Brown:

• AB 353 by Assemblymember Gil Cedillo (D-Los Angeles) – Vehicles: checkpoints.
• AB 366 by Assemblymember Michael Allen (D-Santa Rosa) – Defendants: involuntary antipsychotic medication. A signing statement can be found here.

• AB 486 by Assemblymember Ben Hueso (D-Chula Vista) – Controlled substances.
• AB 520 by Assemblymember Tom Ammiano (D-San Francisco) – Vehicles: reckless driving: suspension of licenses.
• AB 665 by Assemblymember Norma Torres (D-Pomona) – Disorderly conduct.
• AB 1010 by Assemblymember Warren Furutani (D-Long Beach) – Law enforcement: communications.
