SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. will join public safety, local government and health and social services leaders from throughout California tomorrow to discuss realignment in advance of the program’s October 1st roll-out.
Realignment moves public safety, mental health, substance abuse, foster care, child welfare and adult protective services from state to local government. By returning decisions and authority to the local level, realignment will strengthen public safety, will save taxpayer dollars and will ensure that services are delivered with greater efficiency and flexibility.
