SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments.
Lisa Barkett, 52, of La Jolla, has been appointed to the 22nd District Agricultural Association, San Diego County Fair Board. She has been vice president of Merjan Financial Corporation since 1989. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Barkett is a Democrat.
Robert Barton, 49, of Bakersfield, has been appointed Inspector General of the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Barton has served as the senior assistant inspector general in the office of the Inspector General since 2005. Previously, Barton was the supervising deputy district attorney for Kern County from 2000 to 2005. He served as deputy district attorney from 1988 to 2000. Barton received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Davis School of Law. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $142,965. Barton is a Republican.
Charlton “Chuck” Bonham, 43, of Albany, has been appointed director of the California Department of Fish and Game. Bonham has served in multiple positions at Trout Unlimited since 2000, including California director and senior attorney. He was an instructor and trip leader for the Nantahala Outdoor Center from 1994 to 1997 and was a small business development agent for the United States Peace Corp in Senegal, West Africa from 1991 to 1993. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $150,112. Bonham is a Democrat.
Tom Chino, 62, of Del Mar, has been to the 22nd District Agricultural Association, San Diego County Fair Board. He has been president of Chino Nojo, Inc. since 1982. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Chino is registered decline-to-state.
David Lizerbram, 35, of San Diego, has been appointed to the 22nd District Agricultural Association, San Diego County Fair Board. He has been principal at David Lizerbram & Associates since 2005. Lizerbram was an attorney at McColloch and Campitiello LLP from 2004 to 2005 and was an attorney at the Law Offices of Roslyn Soudry from 2002 to 2004. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Lizerbram is registered decline-to-state.
Frederick Schenk, 57, of San Diego, has been appointed to the 22nd District Agricultural Association, San Diego County Fair Board. He has been a partner at Casey Gerry Schenk Francavilla Blatt and Penfield since 1983. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Schenk is a Democrat.
David Watson, 54, of Chula Vista, has been appointed to the 22nd District Agricultural Association, San Diego County Fair Board. He has been a partner at Duane Morris since 2010. Watson was a partner at Hecht Solberg Robinson Goldberg and Bagley from 2008 to 2010 and from 2002 to 2006. He was vice president of Yokohl Ranch Company LLC from 2006 to 2008 and he was an attorney at Gray Cary Ware and Freidenrich from 1988 to 2002. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Watson is a Democrat.
