Governor Brown Announces Appointments

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr. today announced the following appointments.

Thomas Dalzell, 59, of Berkeley, has been appointed to the California Citizens Compensation Commission. Dalzell has served as the business manager for IBEW Local 1245 since 2006, after serving as a staff attorney from 1981 to 2006. He worked in the labor division for the United Farm Workers from 1972 to 1980. He is also a member of the California State Bar, the Dictionary Society of North America, and the American Dialect Society. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Dalzell is a Democrat.

Wilma Wallace, 49, of Oakland, has been appointed to the California Citizens Compensation Commission. Wallace currently serves as vice president and deputy general counsel of Gap Inc., where she has worked since 1994. She was previously an attorney with the law firms of Folger Levin and Orrick, Herrington and Sutcliffe. Wallace serves on the board of the Center for Justice and Accountability and the advisory board of the Professional Business Women of California. She is a member of the Charles Houston Bar Association and the Black Women Lawyers Association of Northern California. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Wallace is a Democrat.
