Governor’s Press Office 2011 Credentialing Information

The Governor’s Office 2010 press credentials will expire on March 30, 2011. All members of the Capitol Press Corps who regularly cover the Governor and wish to renew their credential for 2011 must follow the steps below.

1. Fill out the “Capitol Press Corps Media Credential Application,” which can be found here.

2. Submit a letter from the applicant’s supervising editor or producer confirming that the applicant is a member of a news organization and is assigned to regularly cover the Governor. The letter must be on the news organization’s letterhead.

3. Scan and email applications and letters to Sam.Chiu@gov.ca.gov.

4. Applicants will receive an email when their paperwork has been reviewed.

5. Approved applications must be picked up from the Press Office and taken by the applicant to the California Highway Patrol’s Capitol office. CHP will photograph each approved applicant and issue credentials.
• To accommodate volume, CHP’s Capitol office will be open Tuesday, March 15 – Friday, March 18 from noon to 6 p.m.
• After March 18, CHP’s Capitol office will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 2 p.m.
